INFOCOMICS

Comics that make complex information, services and ideas accessible to wider audiences

COMMUNICATING THROUGH VISUAL NARRATIVES

I use comics and illustration to make complex information more approachable, memorable and engaging. Projects range from health and safety communication to mental-health awareness, environmental information and specialist publications.

SELECTED WORK

Hope Assistance Local Tradies (HALT)

Comics developed with HALT and collaborators to communicate their work in mental-health support for tradespeople. The comics visualise HALT’s mission, available mental health services, and the stigma tradies face talking about their challenges. Origins was created to explain HALT and to direct tradespeople towards support, while the later SLAM project broadened that communication to apprentices.

CNBSafe: 12 Reasons

A series of illustrations developed around James “Woody” Wood’s experiences of workplace injury, using personal storytelling to communicate the consequences of unsafe decisions and encourage safer workplace behaviour.

NaturaConnect

An explainer comic/video commissioned for NaturaConnect, communicating European biodiversity and conservation goals to wider audiences. The work was presented at COP15, the UN Biodiversity Conference (video no longer available).

Kontext

Comics and illustrations created for Kontext, a German psychology journal specialising in systemic therapy. Individual pieces respond to issue themes, including equine-assisted therapy, online therapy, and experiences of diagnosis.

WORK WITH ME

I work with organisations, researchers and community groups to turn specialist information into accessible visual stories.
