These couple of pages show a little of the character’s inability to play it cool. Texting, changing his mind, regretting, wanting, hurting… making bad choices without thinking and having to live with the consequences. The kite (as written in the script) is a metaphor for his desire to be free of these earthly, mundane needs and desires. But it’s hard to get that across in images. You can only place these things in the frame and hope that the reader makes their own connections.
